Partner Engineering

Engineering capacity for agencies and consultancies, delivered under your name, to your client, on your terms.

Agencies rarely need another permanent engineer. They need capacity for a specific piece of work, with a known cost, that does not create a relationship between their client and somebody else. That is the whole arrangement: we work for you, your client works with you.

Who it is for

  • Agencies who have won work they do not currently have capacity to deliver.
  • Consultancies needing a specialist skill for one project, not a permanent hire.
  • Studios covering parental leave, notice periods or an unexpected departure.
  • Firms who want delivery capacity without carrying it as fixed cost.

Typical situations

You won the work and the team is already full

Turning the project down costs the client relationship. Accepting it means delaying something already committed. Hiring takes longer than the project allows.

The project needs a skill you do not keep in-house

One piece of the work requires infrastructure, mobile or data expertise you would use once a year. Hiring for it does not make sense; subcontracting it does.

Someone has left mid-project

A developer resigns partway through a build. The work continues regardless, and the handover window is short.

Your client wants a second opinion before committing

An estimate or an architecture needs reviewing by someone outside the team, without that becoming a conversation your client has directly with another supplier.

What we deliver

  • Engineering capacity under your brand, with no direct contact with your client unless you arrange it.
  • A fixed scope and price per piece of work, so you can quote with a known cost.
  • Code, documentation and handover delivered into your repositories and your accounts.
  • Communication through one named engineer rather than a rotating account team.
  • A mutual non-disclosure agreement before any work begins.
  • No approach to your clients, during the engagement or after it.

Typical timeline

A fixed-price assessment usually takes one to two weeks once read-only access is granted. Implementation duration is set out in the assessment report and depends on scope and change windows.

Starts with a fixed-price assessment

Read-only access first, so nothing changes while we look. You get a written finding, a recommendation and a price before any work is agreed. If the finding is that you should do nothing yet, that is what it will say.

Common questions

Will you contact our client directly?
Not unless you ask us to. The default is that we work through you and your client never deals with us. Where it is more practical for us to join a call, we do it under your name and only with your agreement.
Will you approach our clients later?
No, and it is written into the agreement rather than left as an assurance. Taking a client from a partner would end the partner relationship, which is worth more than any single project.
How is the work priced?
Fixed price per defined piece of work, so you can quote your client with a known cost and margin. Where scope genuinely cannot be fixed in advance, that is said plainly rather than hidden in an estimate.
What if your work is late or wrong?
Then it is our problem to fix, at our cost, and you are told before your client notices. Early warning is more useful to you than an apology afterwards.
Can you work inside our process and tools?
Yes. Your repositories, your branching model, your ticketing, your review standards. Everything produced lives in your accounts from the start, so there is nothing to migrate at the end.
